Nearer — Prayer, Chat & Faith
Last updated: 6 August 2026
The short version
You bring things to Nearer that you may not have told anyone. We take that seriously.
-
We collect as little as we can.
-
We never sell your data. Not ever.
-
We do not use your conversations to train AI models.
-
No ads. No advertising trackers. No data brokers.
-
You can delete everything, at any time, and we will actually delete it.
The rest of this page explains the detail.
1. Who we are
Nearer is made by Elevate Logic Labs LLC, a company registered in the United States.
For anything to do with your privacy, write to us at elevatelogiclabsapps@gmail.com and a real person will answer.
2. What we collect
When you join the waitlist on nearerapp.com
Your email address, and the date you joined. That is all. We use it only to tell you when Nearer is ready and to send occasional notes about the app.
When you create an account in the app
Your email address, and a password (stored encrypted — we cannot read it). If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive only the identifier and email those services give us.
When you use Nearer
-
The messages you write, and the replies Nearer gives.
-
Prayers generated for you.
-
Anything you save to Moments.
-
Your settings — the time you would like your Daily Word, your theme, your notification choices.
-
Technical information
Basic app and device information needed to keep the app running and to fix crashes — device type, operating system version, app version, and error reports.
Subscriptions
If you subscribe, payment is handled entirely by Apple and by our subscription provider, RevenueCat. We never see your card number, bank details or billing address. We only receive whether your subscription is active.
3. What we do NOT collect
-
We do not ask for your real name, address, phone number or date of birth.
-
We do not track you across other apps or websites.
-
We do not use advertising identifiers or advertising trackers.
-
We do not build a profile on you to sell to anyone.
4. Your conversations
This is the part that matters most, so we will be plain about it.
What happens when you write something. Your message is sent securely to our server, and from there to our AI provider (Anthropic), which generates the reply. The reply comes back to you and is stored in your account so you can see your history.
Who can read it.
-
You can.
-
Our AI provider processes your message only to produce the reply. They do not use it to train their models.
-
Our team does not read your conversations as a matter of course. In rare cases — a serious technical fault, or where the law requires it — a member of our team may need to access data. We keep this to the absolute minimum.
We do not use your conversations to train any AI model, ours or anyone else's.
We do not sell, rent, or share your conversations with advertisers, data brokers, insurers, employers, or churches.
5. A note on faith and sensitive information
What you tell Nearer may reveal your religious beliefs, your health, or your state of mind. Under laws such as the UK and EU GDPR, that is treated as a special category of personal data and given extra protection.
We handle it on the basis of your explicit consent — you choose to type it, and you can withdraw that consent at any time by deleting your data or your account.
6. Who we work with
We use a small number of trusted companies to run Nearer. Each one only receives what it needs.
-
Supabase — stores your account and your data. Receives: account details, messages, Moments.
-
Anthropic — generates the replies. Receives: the text of your message.
-
Render — runs our server. Receives: data passing through, not stored.
-
Apple — App Store, sign-in, payments. Receives: payment details (we never see them).
-
RevenueCat — manages subscriptions. Receives: subscription status.
-
Wix — runs nearerapp.com and the waitlist. Receives: your email address.
We do not add new providers that touch your personal data without updating this page.
7. Where your data is held
Our providers store data on servers in the United States. If you are outside the US, your information is transferred there. We rely on standard contractual clauses and equivalent safeguards where the law requires them.
8. How long we keep it
-
Your account and conversations: for as long as your account exists.
-
If you delete your account: we delete your data within 30 days.
-
Waitlist emails: until you unsubscribe, or until you ask us to remove you.
-
Crash and error logs: up to 90 days.
9. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
-
See everything we hold about you
-
Correct anything that is wrong
-
Delete your account and everything in it
-
Export a copy of your data
-
Stop sending you email
You can delete your account from inside the app, in Your space → Delete account. Or write to elevatelogiclabsapps@gmail.com and we will do it for you.
If you are in the UK or the EU, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
If you are in California, you have rights under the CCPA/CPRA. To be explicit: we do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it.
We will never charge you or treat you differently for using any of these rights.
10. Children
Nearer is for adults. You must be 18 or older to use it. Nearer is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
If we learn that a child has given us their information, we delete it straight away. If you are a parent and believe your child has an account, write to elevatelogiclabsapps@gmail.com.
11. Keeping it safe
Your data is encrypted while travelling to us and while stored. Access is limited to the few people who need it. We use trusted, established providers rather than building our own storage.
No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach ever affects your data, we will tell you and the relevant authorities as quickly as the law requires.
12. Nearer is not a counsellor, doctor, or emergency service
Nearer offers comfort, prayer and Scripture. It is a companion, not a professional.
It is not therapy. It is not medical or mental health care. It is not a crisis line, and it is not a substitute for talking to a doctor, a counsellor, or a pastor.
If you are in danger, or thinking of harming yourself, please contact your local emergency number or a crisis line right away. In the United States you can call or text 988.
13. Changes to this page
If we change anything meaningful, we will update the date at the top and tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
